The Philadelphia 76ers are interested in acquiring Jrue Holiday after the veteran guard was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in the Damian Lillard blockbuster deal, a source told Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports.

The Blazers are expected to immediately engage with contending teams on a potential deal involving Holiday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Holiday averaged 19.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.1 boards, and 1.2 steals over 67 appearances last season. He also earned his second All-Star selection and third NBA All-Defensive first-team nod.

Philadelphia selected Holiday 17th overall in 2009. He spent the first four seasons of his career in the City of Brotherly Love, developing into an All-Star guard during his final campaign with the club.

Holiday could provide the 76ers with a championship-calibre replacement option at the point in the event James Harden is traded. The 33-year-old will enter free agency next summer if he declines his $37.4-million player option for 2024-25.
