New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson will miss at least three weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured right thumb, the team announced Thursday.

Robinson sustained the injury during Wednesday's contest against the Washington Wizards. He already missed eight games earlier this season due to a sprained right knee.

Robinson is averaging 8.2 points, 8.9 boards, and 1.8 blocks over 38 appearances in 2022-23. He ranks second in the Association in offensive rebounds (165) and sixth in total swats (68). The Knicks are surrendering 1.5 fewer points per 100 possessions with Robinson on the floor.

New York signed Robinson to a four-year, $60-million contract in the offseason.

Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims are expected to fill the void at the five during Robinson's absence.
