Toronto Raptors forward Precious Achiuwa will be sidelined indefinitely after partially tearing ligaments in his right ankle, the team announced Thursday.
Achiuwa will be in a walking boot for the next 10 days, and his condition will be updated when appropriate, the team added.
The 22-year-old left Wednesday's 116-109 victory over the Houston Rockets early and was helped to the locker room.
In his third NBA season, the Nigerian is averaging 8.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 20.4 minutes across 12 games.
Toronto's frontcourt depth becomes even thinner without Achiuwa, as All-NBA forward Pascal Siakam is out at least two weeks with an adductor strain.
