Report: Jazz hiring Jason Terry as assistant coach
The Utah Jazz are nearing a deal to hire Jason Terry as an assistant on Will Hardy's coaching staff, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Terry, a former 19-year NBA veteran, has been coaching the Denver Nuggets' G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, for the last year. Prior to then, he worked as an assistant on the staff at Arizona, his alma mater, under former head coach Sean Miller.
Utah is filling out its staff behind the bench after hiring Hardy last month. The 34-year-old former Boston Celtics assistant is currently the youngest head coach in the NBA.
Nicknamed "The Jet" during his playing career, Terry suited up for six different franchises but never the Jazz. He averaged 13.4 points, 3.8 assists, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 1,410 career games, starting in 679.
