Doncic without timetable to return from calf strain
There's no timetable for Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic's return from his left calf strain after he underwent an MRI, the team announced Tuesday.
Doncic was injured during the third quarter of the Mavs' regular-season finale against the San Antonio Spurs on April 10. He's already receiving treatment for the injury.
The Mavericks are set to open the playoffs at home against the Utah Jazz on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Dallas isn't required to list Doncic's status for Saturday's game on the league's injury report until Friday at 6 p.m. ET, according to basketball insider Marc Stein.
Doncic has been a superb playoff performer thus far in his career. He's averaged 33.5 points, 9.5 assists, and 8.8 rebounds in 13 postseason contests.
The Mavs went 8-9 when Doncic was out of the lineup this season.
