Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen has been suspended one game for his flagrant-2 foul on Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso, the NBA announced Sunday.

Caruso sustained a right wrist fracture on the play and will miss at least six-to-eight weeks.

The league takes any injury suffered into account when determining disciplinary action and has deemed Allen's contact on Caruso "unnecessary" and "excessive."

Allen will miss Wednesday's contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers, losing $27,963 in salary, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Milwaukee later released a statement, expressing disappointment with the NBA's decision.

"We disagree with the suspension," the Bucks said, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps. "We support Grayson and look forward to him rejoining our team for Friday's game vs. New York."

Both the Bulls and Caruso's agent called on the NBA to take action in the aftermath of Friday's events.

Chicago head coach Billy Donovan characterized Allen's foul as "dangerous," noting his discipline history as one reason why he deserved punishment.

During his junior season at Duke, Allen served a one-game suspension after tripping an opposing player for the third time in one year. The team subsequently stripped him of his captaincy.
