The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a deal to hire Lloyd Pierce as Rick Carlisle's top assistant coach, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Pierce posted a 63-120 record in parts of three seasons as head coach for the Atlanta Hawks. He was fired last March after a 14-20 start to the campaign.
The 45-year-old previously served 11 seasons as an assistant for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies, and Philadelphia 76ers.
Pierce is on Gregg Popovich's staff for the U.S. Olympic team.
