Security escorted a fan out of Capital One Arena after the spectator stepped onto the court in the middle of live play during Monday's Game 4 between the Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards.

The individual ran onto the court in the third quarter and jumped to touch the backboard before security tackled him. He was later seen being handcuffed by police.

Monumental Sports and Entertainment, the Wizards' ownership group, said charges are pending.

"During this evening's game, a fan was apprehended by Capital One Arena Special Police after attempting to breach the court," the organization said in a statement. "He will be banned from the arena and charges are being pursued with DC MPD."

In one angle, the person in question appears to run in from about midcourt, opposite from the team benches, before running toward the 76ers' basket away from the play.

It's the latest example in a growing string of fan incidents marring the first round of the NBA playoffs. On Sunday, a fan in Boston threw a water bottle at Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving as the guard walked off the court following the game. That individual was later arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
