NBA weekend player props: Fade Harden, Porzingis
Dennis Schroder's assist total cashed and Michael Porter Jr. was limited on the glass, but we ultimately took a 2-2 split in player props Thursday.
The Clippers and Mavs play a standalone Friday, so let's dive into bets for that tilt, as well as some for this weekend.
Kristaps Porzingis under 1.5 assists
June 4, 9 p.m. ET
Porzingis hasn't recorded a single assist in almost 58 minutes over the last two games after notching four in Game 3. He's been held below this mark in nine of the last 10 meetings against the Clippers, who have surrendered a paltry 17.7 assists per contest over the last three in the series.
James Harden under rebounds + assists
June 5, 7:30 p.m.
Harden exploded on the stat sheet in the first round against the Celtics, averaging 27.8 points, 10.6 assists, and 7.2 rebounds per contest. He should continue his torrid scoring pace but could potentially regress elsewhere.
The Bucks allowed a whopping 28.8 points per game to point guards over the last 15 but gave up just 5.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists to the position during that span, both good for No. 2 in the NBA.
The total's nearing 240, and the market's expecting close to 122 points for Brooklyn. In turn, Harden’s assists plus rebounds total might be a tad inflated, and I'd be comfortable going under 17.5 or better.
Brook Lopez under points
June 5, 7:30 p.m.
Lopez is another player I'd sell high on in the second-round opener.
The veteran center made quick work of the Heat in the first round, averaging 15.8 points per game on 58.5% shooting from the field. The Nets, however, provide a tougher matchup in the frontcourt. They've allowed the fourth-fewest points to centers (19.8) on the third-lowest field-goal percentage (49.5%) in basketball over the last 15.
Trae Young under rebounds
June 6, 1 p.m.
The star guard will impact Game 1 against the 76ers in some fashion, but I'm fading his rebound total.
Young tallied just four combined boards in two meetings versus Philadelphia this season. He's been relatively quiet on the glass lately, averaging just 1.7 rebounds across his last four contests.
I'd be content grabbing under 3.5 at -120 or better.
