Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was ejected from Wednesday's showdown against the Philadelphia 76ers with a little help from Joel Embiid.

After Embiid was fouled in the final minute of overtime, the Sixers big man successfully lobbied the officials into assessing a technical foul to Mitchell for arguing.

Philadelphia extended its lead to five points when Seth Curry converted on the technical free throw and Embiid split a pair of attempts from the charity stripe.

Mitchell was hit with another technical foul and tossed from the contest following the Jazz's next possession. As the two-time All-Star made his way to the locker room, he knocked over a water cooler.

Mitchell's frustrations carried over into his postgame interview.

"It's tough to go out there and see how we fight and compete, and to have a game like that taken from us," Mitchell said after the Jazz's 131-123 loss. "I'm never ever, ever wanting to blame a ref, to blame an official ... but this is getting out of hand."

He added: "We just continually get screwed in a way by this. We won this game, in my personal opinion. ... It's getting f------ ridiculous. ... The league needs to do something about this. I want to see the last-two-minute report."

Mitchell's ejection comes one night after Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker was booted when he picked up a quick pair of technical fouls for "directing profane language" at a referee.

The banter between Mitchell and Embiid continued following Wednesday's contest.
