Minnesota Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell will miss four-to-six weeks after he undergoes arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to remove a loose body in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Russell has missed Minnesota's last three games with left leg soreness, according to the club. In his last appearance on Feb. 8, he played just over five minutes in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks before leaving due to the issue.

The 24-year-old has missed seven of the Timberwolves' 27 games this season, his first full campaign with the franchise since it acquired him from the Golden State Warriors last February.

Minnesota has gone 1-6 in games without Russell. The team is 7-20 and in last place in the Western Conference.

Russell is averaging 19.3 points, 5.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and shooting 39.9% from deep this year.
