The Philadelphia 76ers and free-agent coach Doc Rivers plan to meet in the Philadelphia area, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers agreed to part ways earlier this week. The former All-Star spent seven years manning the Clippers' sideline, where his teams posted a .631 winning percentage. He also spent several years as the franchise's president of basketball operations before relinquishing the role in 2017.

Combined with his nine years as the Boston Celtics' head coach and five years with the Orlando Magic, Rivers has a 943-681 (.581) coaching record. He led the Celtics to the 2008 title.
