Grizzlies' Winslow done for season after suffering hip injury
The Memphis Grizzlies will be without the services of Justise Winslow throughout the NBA restart after the forward suffered a hip injury during practice Monday, the team announced Tuesday.
Winslow was injured after absorbing contact in a scrimmage and taking a hard fall. The 24-year-old hadn't yet debuted with Memphis since arriving from the Miami Heat in February as part of a three-team trade involving the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"I was excited to join my brothers on the court and will be supporting them throughout. I'm focused on coming back 100 percent towards a full recovery," Winslow tweeted.
He was plagued by injuries throughout the 2019-20 campaign, appearing in just 11 games because of a lingering back ailment. Winslow averaged 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and four assists in 32 minutes per game.
