Report: Growing belief Oladipo will play in restarted season
Victor Oladipo may play for the Indiana Pacers in Orlando after all.
After revealing earlier this month that he intended to sit out the season's resumption, there's now a growing belief Oladipo will attempt to play during the restart, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Oladipo traveled with the Pacers to Orlando, but he cited concerns regarding his rehab as a reason for opting out. However, he's since fully participated in five-on-five scrimmages with the team, sparking optimism about his status, Charania reports.
The 28-year-old guard tore a tendon in his quad last season and didn't play his first game in 2019-20 until late January.
After getting off to a slow start, Oladipo averaged 15.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 37.5% from deep in his last 10 games. He recorded 27 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in Indiana's last contest - a loss to the Boston Celtics on March 10.
