Multiple NBA teams believe LaMelo Ball and those in his inner circle prefer the New York Knicks as his landing spot, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.
Ball spent the 2019-20 campaign with the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League in Australia. He averaged 17 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 1.6 steals before a foot injury shut him down for the remainder of the season.
New York registered the sixth-worst record in the NBA this season and has a 9% chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
Ball is among a handful of players garnering consideration for the top selection. The 6-foot-7 guard possesses elite ball-handling and court vision but shot just 37.5% from the field during his brief spell in Australia.
LaMelo is the younger brother of New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball.
