Melo: 'I'm still up in the air' about resuming season in Orlando

Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony may not make the trip to Orlando to resume the NBA season.

Anthony told Ernie Johnson on Wednesday that he's stayed physically ready, but said he is concerned regarding the lack of specifics surrounding the league's return-to-play plan at the Walt Disney World Resort.

"As far as actually playing and going back down into Orlando, I'm still up in the air a little bit because we don't have all the details," Anthony said. "We don't know a lot of information. So until we have that, it's kind of hard to just commit to it 100%."

Anthony's self-admitted reservations follow a report earlier Wednesday that relayed similar fears from an unspecified group of players.

Approximately 40-50 NBAers reportedly participated in a conference call to discuss the attempted restart to the season, with those players expressing concerns about their family situations, the quarantined campus-like environment, the coronavirus, and social justice.

In response, the NBA and the NBPA are reportedly expected to agree on a provision that would allow players to opt out of the remainder of the season without repercussion. However, they would not be paid for those games missed.
