Oladipo hosting weekly Instagram Live concerts during NBA's hiatus
Stripped of the ability to excite fans with his basketball talents, Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is resorting to his musical gifts as a way to entertain the masses during the NBA's hiatus.
The two-time All-Star has committed to hosting a weekly musical concert featuring himself and three independent artists until the league's stoppage concludes.
"It lets the NBA world kind of see another side of me as far as music goes and being able to host and help independent artists get some exposure," Oladipo told The Associated Press on Friday before this week's show. "It'll bridge the gap between music and sports and show how they kind of coexist."
The musical series, titled BASE:LINE LIVE, began last week. It's broadcast through the NBA's official Instagram account every Friday night.
Oladipo has featured his impressive vocal abilities on a national stage before, starring in FOX's hit television show "The Masked Singer" last year.
The 27-year-old also released his own album, "V.O," in 2018, which features collaborations with artists Tory Lanez, Trey Songz, and PnB Rock.
