The Denver Nuggets agreed to a buyout with swingman Jordan McRae, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Phoenix Suns intend to put in a waiver claim for McRae, league sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

The 28-year-old appeared in just four games for the Nuggets after they acquired him from the Washington Wizards for Shabazz Napier at the Feb. 6 trade deadline.

McRae averaged a career-high 12.8 points in 22.6 minutes per game in Washington but failed to replicate that performance in Denver, where he recorded just 2.3 points in eight minutes per contest.

He made his NBA debut with the Suns in 2016 on a 10-day contract but played in only seven games with the team before finishing the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

McRae is eligible to play in the postseason - regardless of when he signs his next contract - since the Nuggets waived him before March 2. The Suns sit 5 1/2 games outside the Western Conference's playoff picture with 20 contests remaining.
