DeMarcus Cousins, who the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly set to waive, plans to continue rehabbing from a torn ACL with the team for the remainder of the season, Stadium's Shams Charania reports.

Under league rules, an injured player a team has waived is permitted to continue using that organization's facilities during their recovery, Marc Stein of The New York Times noted on Friday.

The Lakers are also motivated to keep Cousins around the club because of his valued locker-room presence, Charania adds.

Cousins, who's expected to be waived to clear a roster spot for power forward Markieff Morris, will continue his rehab throughout the offseason, according to Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes on Friday.

The six-time All-Star hasn't played a game this season after suffering his ACL injury during a workout in August.

Cousins owns career averages of 21.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
