Raptors' Lowry diagnosed with left ankle sprain
Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain, the team announced Monday.
There is no specific timetable for his return.
The six-time All-Star suffered the injury during the first quarter of Sunday's series-clinching win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Lowry is coming off one of his best regular-season campaigns, during which he averaged 19.4 points, 7.5 assists, five rebounds, and 1.4 steals. The 34-year-old was a key part of the Raptors' second-ranked defense and led the Association in charges drawn for the second time in three years.
Toronto is scheduled to tip off its second-round series against the Boston Celtics on Thursday. Boston won three of four regular-season matchups between the clubs, including a 22-point victory earlier in August.
