Weird Week in 🏀: Kuzma's 'do, randy Ralph Lawler, plus the New Year's dump
Every Sunday, theScore highlights the week's lighter moments from around the basketball universe. After taking a break over the holidays, here's what caught our eye this week.
Lose yourself in the hair dye
Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma raised eyebrows with a new bleach-blond look on Wednesday.

Naturally, the look immediately evoked comparisons to late-90s, early-2000s Eminem, pictured below at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards after jamming his finger in a door:

The jokes soon started flowing.
A Lakers fan yelled “Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?” at @kylekuzma last night 🤣 😭

Like Kyle Kuzma's mom's spaghetti, everything the Lakers are throwing up is going in
— Dan Woike (@DanWoikeSports) January 2, 2020
In two games since going blond, Kuzma is averaging 14.5 points but shooting just 36% from the field.
These are not the greatest players in the world, this is just a tribute
Elsewhere with the Lakers, the team has officially eliminated the bar for tribute videos.

The Pelicans' trio of Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart collectively appeared in 419 games for the Lakers over the past three seasons - one fewer than Sasha Vujacic's total for the club.

Move over, Dr. Ruth
In other L.A. hoops news, Ralph Lawler appears to be enjoying his retirement. The beloved former Clippers broadcaster rang in 2020 by dispensing some unsolicited advice to his legion of Twitter followers: Just do it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! pic.twitter.com/u2O8DMZBUA
— Ralph Lawler (@Ohmeomy) January 1, 2020
Is this a self-effacing joke about his bedroom activities - or rather, the lack thereof? Probably.
Is it funnier to imagine Lawler earnestly attempting to get people to use it or lose it? Absolutely.
How this relates to "Lawler's Law" is anyone's guess, but "Weird Week" looks forward to future tips from the 81-year-old. Next week: ethical non-monogamy.
There's a thin line between PDA and CPR
At what point is the Knicks' Kiss Cam operator obliged to check on the well-being of the subjects?
This guy's CPR technique is absolutely atrocious. But hey, at least he's trying to help:

I mean, come on. Here's a courageous young man attempting to resuscitate a woman who's clearly unconscious (perhaps the jab steps of visiting ex-Knicks star Carmelo Anthony have made her dizzy?), and there's no Madison Square Garden personnel in sight.
Stop filming the Kiss Cam and go call an ambulance!

New Year's relief
Rounding out our New Year's coverage, here's a beautiful story about the power of grace, charity, and forgiveness featuring actor Gabrielle Union, the wife of retired Heat icon Dwyane Wade.
Trying to be responsible & use UBER & our driver asked to use our bathroom 15-20 min later 🤢 Dude dropped a deuce. Im pleased we clearly have a home & available reading material that screams "Come in, get comfortable and drop the kids off at the pool" Welcome to 2020 folks 💩🤗

If your decade begins by demolishing the Wade family's washroom, there's really nowhere to go but down.
Jack on the track
Toronto Raptors color commentator Jack Armstrong has a penchant for breaking into a song during the broadcast.
Calling the game in his native Brooklyn, Armstrong regaled viewers with an interesting spoken-word take of Biggie's seminal 1990s rap hit "Juicy."

Hip-hop heads will recognize that Jack flubbed the lyric slightly.
Fortunately, no one at Barclays took umbrage, unlike when Raptors play-by-play man Matt Devlin nearly started an international incident after mispronouncing the rapper Wale's name at a Wizards game.
