Pacers' Turner helped to locker room after spraining ankle

Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner was helped to the locker room after rolling his ankle in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Pacers announced he suffered a sprained right ankle and was questionable to return at the time, though they later ruled the 23-year-old out for the rest of the game.

Turner was rolling to the basket after setting a screen for Aaron Holiday on Nets guard Garrett Temple. Temple's knee appeared to make incidental contact with Turner's right leg, causing the Pacers center to turn his ankle and trip up both players in the process.

Though Indiana was winless entering Wednesday's matchup, Turner had impressed through the first three contests of his fifth NBA season, averaging 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 39 minutes per game.

Despite losing their star big man early, the Pacers held on to defeat the Nets 118-108.
