Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is out indefinitely with a stress reaction in his left foot, the team announced Thursday.
The injury occurred during Kuzma's time with USA Basketball this summer.
Kuzma will undergo an MRI once the Lakers return from their preseason trip to China on the weekend of Oct. 12-13.
The former first-round pick is expected to play a big role in the Lakers' offense alongside LeBron James and newcomer Anthony Davis. Kuzma averaged 18.7 points on 45.6% shooting across 70 appearances during the 2018-19 campaign.
L.A. begins its regular season Oct. 22 at the Staples Center against the Los Angeles Clippers.
