Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry didn't emerge from Tuesday's series-clinching Game 5 victory over the Orlando Magic completely unscathed.
The five-time All-Star injured his right ring finger when it was struck by the basketball in the second quarter. After medical staff examined him during a timeout, Lowry briefly returned to action before heading to the locker room with 2:41 remaining in the opening half and Toronto up 59-42.
Lowry, 33, played nine minutes during the final two quarters of Toronto's 115-96 win, finishing with 14 points, nine assists, and four rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting. He sounded optimistic he'll be good to go for the start of the second round against the Philadelphia 76ers.
"It popped out, but it's fine," Lowry said while wearing a splint, according to ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz. "I popped it back in. Got a couple days to get it back and recover, and hopefully, it will be better by Game 1. Well, it will be better by Game 1."
After failing to register a point in Game 1, Lowry averaged 14.4 points on 51.2 percent shooting, along with 8.8 dimes and two steals across four consecutive wins for Toronto.
