Report: Potential lottery pick Doumbouya declares for NBA draft

French teen Sekou Doumbouya has declared for the NBA draft, his agent told ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

He is the eighth-ranked prospect on ESPN's top 100 list while various other outlets have him projected to be selected within the lottery.

Doumbouya, 18, will be the youngest player eligible to be drafted and will likely surpass Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokoumpo as the youngest to make their NBA debut since the league changed the minimum age limit in 2005.

The 6-foot-9 forward is currently playing for Limoges CSP in France's top basketball league, but spent the previous two seasons playing a tier below for Poitiers Basket 86, averaging 7.7 points per contest across 59 appearances. He was named the Best Young Player in the second-tier French league during the 2017-18 season.

Doumbouya was also a member of France's gold medal-winning squad at the 2016 FIBA Europe U18 Championship as a 16-year-old, being named to the all-tournament team along the way.
