Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid returned to action against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday after an eight-game absence. The 24-year-old had been sidelined due to left knee soreness.
Embiid hadn't played since last month's All-Star Game and had been experiencing discomfort leading into the break. However, head coach Brett Brown doesn't believe that Embiid's participation in the All-Star Game worsened his injury.
The Sixers went 4-4 in Embiid's absence and have dropped two straight games. The Cameroon native is averaging career highs in points (27.3), boards (13.5), and assists (3.5) per contest across 54 appearances.
