If trade talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans heat up, Lonzo Ball's camp prefers him to be dealt to a third team that doesn't have an established point guard, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The Pelicans currently employ 10-year veteran guard Jrue Holiday.
New Orleans has reportedly asked for Ball to be included in any Lakers offer for Anthony Davis, who's requested a trade from the Pelicans.
Ball has missed the past three games due to a Grade 3 left ankle sprain and is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.
Through 47 games, the 21-year-old is averaging 9.9 points, 5.4 assists, 5.3 boards, and 1.5 steals per contest. The UCLA product has averaged 12.5 points and 7.2 assists during LeBron James' injury-related absence.
