The Chicago Bulls traded guard Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for MarShon Brooks, Wayne Selden, and second-round picks in 2019 and 2020 on Thursday.

Chicago waived Cameron Payne to clear a roster spot.

Holiday provides the Grizzlies with the 3-and-D wing they've been pursuing after a three-team deal that would've netted Kelly Oubre Jr. fell apart.

The 29-year-old is averaging 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest through 38 games this season.

The Grizzlies remain below the luxury tax with Holiday's acquisition and will inherit his early bird rights, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Memphis had been using Brooks and Selden as reserves, and they're averaging 6.6 and 5.4 points per game, respectively.

However, Brooks' agent, Wallace Prather, and the Bulls are working on a new destination for his client, leagues sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Chicago reportedly doesn't plan to have Brooks report to the team, nor do they plan on waiving him immediately.
