Toronto Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry will likely sit out the upcoming back-to-back against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday and Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, head coach Nick Nurse told TSN's Josh Lewenberg.

Nurse said the starting point guard is having difficulty progressing from a thigh contusion but did not go into detail about the severity of the issue.

Lowry has missed the Raptors' last three games and four combined this season. They've gone 2-2 in his absence.

Without Lowry, the offense has struggled, scoring 18.9 points less per 100 possessions when he's off the floor.

Although his scoring has fallen off this season while averaging 14.2 points - his lowest total since 2012-13 - Lowry is currently second in the NBA in assists with a career-high 10 per game.
