Watch: Grizzlies unveil 'Main Event' jersey inspired by city's wrestling lore

The Memphis Grizzlies are drawing inspiration from the squared circle with their new "City Edition" jersey.

"Building from our new Steel Grey color base, our City Edition connects the all-new with old-school steel chairs and cages of Memphis Wrestling lore," the Grizzlies said on their website.

The team's new kit, dubbed the "Main Event," takes other sartorial cues from Memphis' past as a 1970s wrestling hot spot. The gold side panels on both the jersey and the shorts are meant to evoke wrestling's championship belts, while the design running around the shorts represents the ropes of the ring.

The Grizzlies will have their first opportunity to wear the new jersey Saturday night versus the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, during which Joel Embiid, one of the NBA's biggest heels, will battle local favorite Marc Gasol for the proverbial belt.
