Russell Westbrook will miss the Oklahoma City Thunder's season opener Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors as he continues recovering from knee surgery.

The Thunder will likely deploy recently acquired Dennis Schroder to supplant Westbrook during his absence.

There's currently no timetable for his return, but Thunder head coach Billy Donovan said last Thursday that the superstar has been progressing.

September's procedure was the fourth surgery Westbrook has undergone on his right knee, but the first in approximately five years.

Westbrook collected 25.4 points, 10.1 boards, and 10.3 assists in 80 contests last season - his second consecutive triple-double average.
