Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry continues to make strides toward becoming the host of a PGA Tour event, as his representatives and the Tour are discussing potential venues, according to Golf.com.

The newly renovated South Course at Chuck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda, across the bay from San Francisco, is the focus of the two parties.

An ESPN report in May noted that Curry and the PGA Tour were finalizing a deal to have the NBA superstar host a fall event on the 2019-2020 schedule.

Octagon, Curry's agency, did not provide details about the potential event. However, a PGA Tour spokesperson said that partnering with Curry on a tournament would be "an incredible opportunity," but added, "we don't have any news to report at this time, including potential host facilities or tournament dates."

Back in May, Laura Neal of the PGA Tour said: "We're excited about the prospect of partnering with an iconic athlete of his caliber in the future."
