Vince Carter to serve as analyst for Jr. NBA World Championship
Vince Carter has joined FOX Sports' coverage of the inaugural Jr. NBA World Championship.
The network announced that Carter will work as an analyst during the Under-14 youth basketball tournament, which will take place Aug. 7-12 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. The broadcast team will also include play-by-play announcers Mark Followill and Gus Johnson, analyst Donny Marshall, and reporter Noah Eagle.
The 41-year-old Carter has been in the booth before, serving as a guest analyst for NBA TV during its broadcast of the summer league.
"The Jr. NBA World Championship will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the more than 300 boys and girls from 35 countries that will compete on a world stage," Carter said in a statement. "This is an incredible opportunity and I can't wait to start working with everyone at FOX."
The Jr. NBA World Championship will feature 32 top boys and girls teams from 35 countries, separated into U.S. and international brackets. It will open with round-robin play followed by single-elimination competitions, with the winners of the U.S. and international brackets advancing to the World Championship games on Aug. 12.
