Report: Rockets, Chris Paul agree to 4-year, $160M deal
The Houston Rockets have reached an agreement with point guard Chris Paul on a four-year, $160-million contract, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
That's max money for Paul, but the Rockets managed to negotiate for four years as opposed to the full five for the 33-year-old superstar.
The Rockets acquired Paul last summer when he agreed to opt into the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers so the two teams could work out a trade.
He helped lead Houston to a franchise-best 65-17 record and a 3-2 lead on the eventual champion Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals before suffering a series-ending hamstring injury at the end of Game 5.
Paul also missed 24 games during the regular season due to a knee injury.
