Carmelo, La La Anthony visit family of slain Bronx teenager
Carmelo Anthony and his wife, La La, paid their respects Monday to the family of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, who was murdered by gang members in the Bronx in a case of mistaken identity.
Anthony gifted the family a signed New York Knicks jersey, Oklahoma City Thunder Jersey, and a pair of Air Jordans, according to the New York Daily News.
"(Guzman-Feliz's) sister reached out and told me he loved Melo. So I asked Mel to go with me," La La wrote on Instagram. "I can't imagine this type of pain and sadness. His family is strong and may God bless them forever."
Guzman-Feliz was dragged outside a grocery store last Wednesday and stabbed to death with machetes.
Six suspects are expected to face an extradition hearing Tuesday in New Jersey, according to the Daily News. A seventh suspect was arrested Sunday and has been charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault, and assault.
