DeAndre Jordan sees a future for himself suiting up for his hometown franchise.

The Los Angeles Clippers center is reportedly focused on becoming a member of the Houston Rockets, league sources told USA Today's Kelly Iko.

Jordan apparently informed multiple Rockets players during the regular season of his desire to one day join their roster.

He even did so following the infamous altercation between the two teams back in January where the likes of James Harden and Gerald Green attempted to push their way into the Clippers locker room to confront Austin Rivers and Blake Griffin. Jordan, according to Iko's source, spoke to members of the Rockets on the team bus afterwards about how he was frustrated with the Clippers organization.

The 29-year-old big man earned $22.6 million in 2017-18, and can stay in Los Angeles should he elect to opt in to his $24.1-million player option for 2018-19.

Houston has invested a great deal of time and effort into developing Swiss center Clint Capela since drafting him 25th overall in 2014. Capela is roughly five years younger than Jordan, and will soon enter restricted free agency this summer, with team owner Tilman Fertitta hoping to match any offer that comes his way.

Should the Rockets continue to ride with Capela, there wouldn't be much of a need for Jordan at that point, as their respective numbers are already very similar outside of Jordan being the superior rebounder.

Jordan said back in March that he hopes he can play with the Clippers for another 10 years. This came months after his longtime teammate Griffin was shipped off to the Detroit Pistons, basically signalling the end of the "Lob City" era.

Across 77 appearances this past season, Jordan averaged 12 points and ranked second overall in both rebounds per game (15.2) and field-goal percentage (64.5).
