The National Basketball Players Association has withdrawn its grievance filed in defense of free-agent center Willie Reed, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Reed, then a member of the Detroit Pistons, was suspended six games last month over an arrest last year for misdemeanor battery of his wife. He served one game of the suspension on Feb. 7, but was then traded to the Chicago Bulls and waived.
Reed will now be required to serve the remaining games of the suspension if he is signed by another team.
