Wall calls Bucks' Dellavedova a dirty player following flagrant on Beal

Matthew Dellavedova has made his fair share of enemies over the years for his reckless, brutish brand of basketball. He was even voted by a select group of players, coaches, and assistants to be the league's "dirtiest" player prior to last season.

Saturday night, in a 110-103 Milwaukee Bucks victory over the Washington Wizards at Verizon Center, the 27-year-old Aussie guard was given the boot in the fourth quarter courtesy of a flagrant-2 foul he committed by clotheslining Bradley Beal.

John Wall, Beal's All-Star teammate, feels Dellavedova's actions are yet another example of why he has the reputation he does.

"Whatever their team can say, and other people can vouch for him, to me, I always just thought he was a dirty player," said Wall, according to CBS DC's Bryan Frantz. "I give him credit, he plays hard, I take nothing away from him for that, but I just feel like he's a dirty player.

"A guy going full speed, you don't grab him by his shoulders. You grab him by his waist or whatever else. But the refs did what they had to do and got him out of there, and then we kept continuing to play basketball."

As far as Wall is concerned, there's a huge difference between being aggressive and being dirty, adding that if anyone on his team had done what Dellavedova did, Milwaukee's reaction would have been exactly the same.

"(Dellavedova's) known for undercutting guys trying to box him out and stuff like that. I give no credit for that," Wall said. "I give credit to him for being a hard player that's hard-nosed, one of the old-school type players that plays very physically, I give him credit for that. But when it comes to doing dirty plays, I have no respect for him."
