Disgraced ex-NBA official Tim Donaghy was arrested Tuesday on a felony aggravated assault charge after allegedly threatening a man with a hammer.

Donaghy, 50, showed up to a house where he believed his 19-year-old daughter was using drugs with a friend Monday night, according to Manatee County Sheriff's Department records.

He entered into a heated debate with his daughter in front of the Florida home and when the owner checked to see what the hullabaloo was about, Donaghy allegedly brandished the hammer and threatened to hit the man with it if he got any closer to him, per the probable cause affidavit.

Donaghy's lawyer told TMZ Sports that his client didn't assault nor threaten anyone, and brought the tool as means for protection if necessary.

He appeared in court Tuesday and was released on $5,000 bond. He's set to be arraigned on Jan. 19.

The former referee served a 13-month prison sentence from 2008-09 for betting on games he officiated.
