Carter hopes Nike brings back his signature Shox sneakers

With Nike announcing the return of its Shox concept, Vince Carter hopes the company will also consider bringing back his signature line.

Carter told Sole Collector's Zac Dubasik he campaigned for his shoes to get a retro release "for a couple years" to no avail.

"I'd be cool if it comes back out and I'm still playin' - I'd be ecstatic," the 40-year-old said. "They said they'd look into it; it would be great. This is a great start just to see that Shox shoe out there."

Other players have expressed interest too.

"The first day I saw this guy here (points to George Hill), that's the first thing he asked for. There's guys who are itchin' to get that shoe back," Carter said. "All the young guys ask me about it and if I can get it for them."

The Nike Shox VC line launched in 2002 and had five models.
