Durant out again due to ankle sprain
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will not play in Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans because he's still recovering from a left ankle sprain, the team announced.
It'll be the third game Durant's sat out due to the ankle injury, which he suffered a week ago versus the Philadelphia 76ers. He missed Friday's win over the Chicago Bulls and was listed as doubtful entering the tilt with the Pelicans.
The reigning Finals MVP suited up in the previous contest - a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder - but coach Steve Kerr later admitted it was a mistake to let Durant play in the marquee matchup with his former team, given his lingering ankle issues.
Durant's averaging 24.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.1 blocks over 16 games this season. The Warriors are 3-0 without him, and have been starting Omri Casspi in his stead.
Andre Iguodala, who's seen extended minutes with Durant sidelined, is probable for the Pelicans game with a sore left knee.
