The NBA's new exclusive apparel deal with Nike seems to be spurring some gamesmanship from certain players who have endorsement deals with different brands.

As noticed by several parties in the season's first three weeks and reported on by Business Insider's Cork Gaines, Stephen Curry and James Harden appear to be covering the Nike logo from their game socks.

The Nike swoosh is located at the top of the new-issue socks, as this photograph of LeBron James indicates.

The NBA's contract with Nike includes the swoosh featured prominently on the right shoulder of all jerseys, something impossible to cover up. The league's former deal with Adidas did not include socks; those were contracted to Stance Hoops.

Such craftiness is nothing new, however. Some speculated James once altered the Adidas logo on his Miami Heat warmups, and Michael Jordan conveniently wore an American flag over the Reebok logo on the Team USA warmups in the 1992 Olympics.
