The Denver Nuggets have joined the Milwaukee Bucks as a team interested in acquiring forward Richard Jefferson, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin.

It was reported Sunday the Bucks were the front-runner to land the services of the 16-year NBA veteran, who is expected to clear waivers Monday afternoon.

Jefferson spent the last two seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers but became expendable following their offseason overhaul. He was traded to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday and immediately waived.

A former borderline All-Star, Jefferson, 37, has become a sturdy veteran presence in his later years. During the 2016-17 season, Jefferson played in 79 games, averaging 20.4 minutes played. He has a connection with the Bucks as head coach Jason Kidd is a former teammate.
