It doesn't look as though Richard Jefferson will have to wait long to latch on to another team.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Jefferson share mutual interest on a potential deal, although no agreement has been reached yet, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin.

Other teams have reportedly expressed interest, as well.

The 37-year-old veteran was acquired by the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday from the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he spent the last two seasons and won a championship in 2016. He was then subsequently waived, and will be free to join another roster at 5 p.m. ET Monday.

Milwaukee cleared a roster spot Saturday by releasing Gerald Green, who was working under a non-guaranteed training camp invite. Its core is one of the youngest in the Association, with Jason Terry (40) and Mirza Teletovic (32) the only players over the age of 30.

Bucks head coach Jason Kidd was a teammate of Jefferson's for seven seasons with the New Jersey Nets. The two led the franchise to NBA Finals appearances in 2002 and 2003, but failed to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy on both occasions.

Jefferson was traded from New Jersey to Milwaukee during the 2008 offseason in exchange for Bobby Simmons and Yi Jianlian. In his one year with the Bucks, he contributed the third-most points of his career at 19.6 per game before being sent to the San Antonio Spurs the following summer.

In 79 appearances for the Cavaliers in 2016-17, Jefferson put up 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds on 44.6 percent shooting as a reserve.
