Shumpert challenges journalist who reported his trade demands
Iman Shumpert doesn't want to be held responsible for something he didn't do.
It was reported earlier on Friday by ESPN's Dave McMenamin that Shumpert had requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The news quickly spread like wildfire on Twitter.
Shumpert, however, took exception with McMenamin's reporting and decided to publicly challenge him on Twitter.
.@mcten since you speaking on me, you can find my number somehow. Get it and call me. I'll be waitin on it. I'm done wit social.

A conflicting report from Shams Charania of The Vertical went against McMenamin's information, as Charania said Shumpert never approached management with a trade request. Where both reporters are consistent is that the Cavaliers have actively shopped Shumpert.
Shumpert averaged 7.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game as a low-usage defensive specialist for the Cavaliers last season. He's owed $21 million over the next two seasons.
