Report: Nene agrees to new 3-year deal with Rockets
Cooler heads prevailed after their first agreement fell through.
The Houston Rockets have reached an agreement on a new deal with Nene after their previous four-year pact violated of the over-38 rule, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Nene will earn $11 million over the next three seasons, Wojnarowski adds. It is essentially the same contract that Nene agreed to earlier in the week, only without the fourth year.

Nene was fantastic in his first season with the Rockets. The 15-year veteran was tremendously useful as a bench cog, averaging 9.1 points and 4.2 rebounds while hitting 61.7 percent from the field. He excelled in Mike D'Antoni's spread pick-and-roll offense and provided good defensive coverage at the rim.
