The Charlotte Hornets have reached an agreement to sign free-agent point guard Michael Carter-Williams, sources told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
He will receive $2.7 million for a one-year deal, sources told Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today.
It's been all downhill for MCW since his dubious Rookie of the Year campaign. The 25-year-old has bounced between three franchises over the last three seasons, and has struggled to find a home on account of his inability to make jump shots.
At the very least, Carter-Williams offers a rare mix of size and ball-handling. The 6-foot-6 guard boasts some defensive versatility and is a crafty - albeit error-prone - playmaker who can absorb minutes as a backup.
Carter-Williams averaged 6.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 18.8 minutes per game with the Bulls last season, while shooting 36.6 percent from the floor.
