Report: Rockets among 6 teams interested in Carter-Williams
Free agent Michael Carter-Williams continues to be linked with numerous organizations seeking backcourt depth.
Since the Chicago Bulls failed to extend a qualifying offer his way, the Knicks, Thunder, Pelicans, Mavericks, and Hornets have all expressed interest in the oft-injured 25-year-old guard, ESPN's Marc Spears reports.
The Houston Rockets may be more eager than those five teams, however, as a source told Spears the team called the Syracuse product Friday night.
The Rockets lost guards Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams in their acquisition of Chris Paul, giving them an immediate need for a backup point guard.
Carter-Williams, the 2013-14 Rookie of the Year, has flashed double-double and even triple-double upside throughout his career, which could play well under Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni.
