With the No. 29 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, the San Antonio Spurs selected Colorado guard Derrick White.

White just completed an incredible collegiate journey, following up three Division II seasons and a redshirt year with a terrific campaign as a fifth-year senior in his first taste of Division I action. The 23-year-old finished third in the Pac-12 in scoring with 18.1 points per game (on a .507/.396/.813 shooting line), along with 4.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.4 blocks.

Capable of playing either guard spot, White is a strong ball-handler and off-the-bounce shooter who can orchestrate the pick-and-roll and finish at the rim. He plays under control, striking a healthy balance of scoring and facilitating.

Despite having a handful of plus skills, White isn't elite at anything, and his age ostensibly limits his upside. His lack of strength and lateral quickness makes him a potential defensive liability. He also doesn't have a great first step, and may struggle to turn the corner against longer defenders. He looks like a high-floor, low-ceiling pick.
