Cavs, Goodyear sign jersey ad partnership starting in 2017-18
The Cleveland Cavaliers will partner with Goodyear on a multi-year jersey logo sponsorship deal starting in the 2017-18 season, the team announced Monday.
A small patch - 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches with the signature Goodyear wingfoot logo - will appear on the right shoulder of Cavaliers uniforms, with USA TODAY's Jeff Zilgitt reporting that the Cavs will receive $10 million per year from the sponsorship. That would be the most lucrative jersey sponsorship an NBA team has struck so far, but other top teams like the Golden State Warriors are reportedly demanding around $13 million to $20 million.

The NBA is selling sponsorship on jerseys for a trial three-year period beginning in the 2017-18 season, while Nike is taking over the rights to produce league uniforms from Adidas. Ads will appear on players' jerseys, but not on fan apparel.
Among other jersey deals, the Philadelphia 76ers sold a $5-million sponsorship over three years to Stubhub, while the Sacramento Kings inked a Blue Diamond Growers campaign for $5 million.
